Weekly Engagement

Safety Briefing Reminders!

We are excited to kick off our weekly email updates! In preparation for the 2022 wildfire season, we will be providing weekly emails highlighting different topics covered in your training. This week’s topic is safety.

Safety is a priority to PG&E. To ensure safety on site for employees and customers, the Customer Service Lead will hold a Safety Briefing meeting with all on-site personnel before the shift begins.

Once site setup is complete, you should begin your pre‐shift safety briefing – which are typically held between 7:30‐7:45 a.m. for the morning shift and 3‐3:15 p.m. during the evening shift.

The CSL will cover topics during the Safety Briefing such as:

  • Health, safety, CPR, 911 and Evacuation Emergency assignments on the for the shift.
  • The evacuation routes and assembly points in case of an emergency.
  • The CALGREEN code word – which is the discreet term used to alert security or nearby staff of the need to contact 911 in case of a threat.
  • The ICS 208 and 215A Safety Messages and the ICS 206 Medical Plan.

The CSL will confirm that all personnel contact info is written on the emergency contact form, with phone numbers and emergency contacts, so the CSL can reach everyone as needed.

  •   Finally, the CSL will also designate a CSS as the onsite COVID monitor, if an indoor site.

The safety briefing is an important pre-shift task that helps staff meet each other and understand roles, and helps staff know what to do in case of emergency. Following the briefing, the completed form should be uploaded to RAYVN. Please join the August engagement on Tuesday, August 23rd for important updates regarding the safety briefing process.
